Dear Parents:

As a kindergarten teacher in my twenties, I dreamed of one day having my own pre-school.  In my thirties I was lucky to open The Sunshine Kids' Club in Westhampton Beach, Long Island. This year, I celebrate my 30th year of teaching and the 20th anniversary of The Sunshine Kids' Club - the last 10 years spent happily here on East 83rd Street.

Now, however, I am nearing my sixties and, after intense soul searching, I have decided that it is time for a change.  Therefore, on May 31, 2006, The Sunshine Kids' Club will close its doors for the last time. I want to acknowledge the immeasurable contribution of C.Z. Zuckerman to The Sunshine Kids' Club.  While C.Z and I are pursuing a couple of ideas, neither of us have specific plans except for possibly spending a bit more time in our respective rockers enjoying family and friends.  I will always have "Sunshine Kids" in my life and I look forward to, among other projects, writing children's stories and creating educational materials.

We are all looking forward to our remaining weeks of classes which include many surprises, games, new props and activities.  Our ending will be just as joyful as our beginning! It is with heartfelt appreciation for your support and warm wishes over these many years that I say, Thank You.
Sincerely,

Trish Acree
